Mr.Goodwin was U.S. delegate to the Intergovernmental Meeting of Experts for Rational Use and Conservation of the Resources of the Biosphere held in Paris, Ville de Paris, France in 1968. Subsequently, he was detailed to the InternationalUnion Conservation of Nature in Morges, Vaud, Switzerland where he served as Staff Ecologist for Endangered Species, with special responsibilities for developing a basis control of international traffic in wildlife and its products. Healso revised or directed the revisions to the Red Data Books. He served on the Secretariat of a Plenipotentiary Meeting attended by more than 90 nations, which culminated in the signing of a treaty for the protection of the endangeredspecies of the world.
