      CHESAPEAKE -- Wilbur Morris Byrum Sr., 71, went home Aug. 13, 2001. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Churchland Masonic Lodge No. 276, past Worthy Master, and member of Khedive Temple, Clown Unit. Wilbur was a true gentleman,treasured and respected for his kind ways, and loved by all that knew him. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service and he loved his golf.
      Wilbur is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mary Byrum; two daughters, Karen Byrum and Michelle Hampton; a son, Morris Byrum; a sister, Peggy Hillman; a brother, Isaac Richard Byrum Jr.; six grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.Three sisters predeceased him, Hazel Forbes, Louise Savin and Margie Sumner.
      A funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Loving Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel, by the Rev. Philip Parker with burial in Olive Branch Cemetery with Masonic Rites. The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at thefuneral home and suggest memorial contributions be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 2117 London Blvd., Portsmouth, VA 23704.
